Clement Bryant's art career began at an early age--kindergarten, to be precise. He remembers his teacher halting a class project so that his fellow students might observe and admire Clement's design and execution of the assignment.

Since that time, there have been a multitude of admirers and followers of his artistic style as exhibited in the areas of fine art and graphic design.

Part of the onlookers' amazement may be attributed to Clement's early years spent in an environment far from conducive towards nurturing artistic talent. He was born and raised in a tough neighborhood in our nation's capital, Washington, D.C. Ironically, his talent continued to thrive amidst often chaotic early experiences that ran the gamut from rough to refined. A key moment arrived at the age of nine, when his principal submitted his name to a metropolitan-area art contest for the "Young and Gifted" sponsored by the Smithsonian Institution. Over 2,500 children competed, but Clement and five other students were the only ones awarded the opportunity to study and learn about the great masters--Michelangelo, da Vinci, Picasso, Dali--to name a few. Along with this opportunity, Clement continued receiving much encouragement to further develop his own style as a young artist.

In addition to garnering numerous awards, Mr. Bryant won national recognition as an artist while in high school, which led to a full scholarship at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York. He earned his Bachelor of Fine and Applied Arts degree in environmental/industrial design. Since then, Clement has concentrated on his career as a graphics and freelance industrial designer.

“Art has always been a central focus of my spirit and passion for life. I feel at this point in my life, I am still compelled to pursue creating my fine art. I hope that the joy, passion, and fulfillment I experience when imagining and executing my artwork is shared with my viewing audience.” Clement states.

Anticipating the future, Clement looks forward to expanding his art career as he envisions an infinite number of subjects that he wishes to explore individually or as a series of paintings. His positive philosophy recognizes that even hardships, when coupled with life's lighter moments, expand and enhance the wellspring of his experiences, thus enabling him to tap into and use them as expressions of his art. As his awareness and appreciation for the tapestry of life deepens, we may look forward to viewing the outward manifestation of his life's journey, as evident in Clement's art.
